Privacy Policy
The short version. Our games have no accounts and never ask for your name, email or anything else that identifies you. Thrust Roadster sends anonymous play statistics to Google Analytics (you can turn this off in Settings) and shows banner ads through Google AdMob (which Google serves, and which may use your device's advertising ID). This website sets no cookies and runs no trackers. Questions: hello@rowdyneighborsgames.com.
Who we are
Rowdy Neighbors Games, LLC is a small independent game studio in Olathe, Kansas, USA. We make Aisle Be Back (a PC game) and Thrust Roadster (an Android game). This policy explains what each of them does with data, and what this website does. We are the "data controller" for the data described here, except where we say that Google acts on its own account.
Thrust Roadster (Android)
Saved on your phone only
The game keeps your progress on your device: best scores, coins, Garage items, upgrades, missions, settings, and a random install ID (explained below). This data never leaves your phone except as described in the next sections. If Android's backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include this save in the backup it keeps in your own Google account. That backup is between you and Google; we have no access to it.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics)
To see how the game is played and to fix what isn't working, the game sends events to Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC. There is no login and no name: Google counts players by a random install ID the game makes the first time it runs. The ID is a random number; it is not your advertising ID, your Google account or your phone's serial number, and a reinstall makes a new one.
What is sent:
- About your device: phone model, Android version, graphics chip name, screen size, memory size, language, and the game's version.
- What happens in the game: the game opening, the tutorial starting and finishing, each run starting and ending (how it ended, score, distance, stage, how long it lasted, coins collected, what you did on the way), power-ups and Second Chances used, purchases made with in-game coins, missions and daily rewards, which menus you open, settings you change, and when the game lowers its graphics quality to keep the frame rate up.
- Crash reports: if the game was closed unexpectedly, the next launch sends what the game was doing at the time (screen, stage, run time, frame rate, memory use). No personal information is in a crash report.
What is not sent: your name, email, contacts, location, photos, files, or anything typed into your phone. The game asks for no permissions beyond internet access and vibration.
Your choice. Open Settings in the game and set Usage Data to Off. From then on nothing is sent; the switch-off itself is the last event recorded. Uninstalling the game also stops it. Usage data is also sent from test builds of the game, not only from the version on Google Play.
Where it goes and for how long. Events go to Google Analytics servers (which may be outside your country, including in the United States) under Google's Privacy Policy. We keep event-level data in Google Analytics for 14 months, after which Google deletes it; aggregated reports (totals and averages) may be kept longer. We do not sell this data or combine it with data from anywhere else.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Thrust Roadster is free and shows a banner advertisement along the bottom of the screen, served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. There are no video ads, no ads that interrupt a run, and nothing in the game can be bought for real money.
To serve ads, Google's advertising software inside the game collects data on Google's behalf. According to Google, this can include your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and network information, the app's name and version, and how ads are shown and interacted with. Google uses it to choose and show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and detect fraud. Depending on your settings and where you live, ads may be personalised to your interests. Google describes this in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in its Advertising page.
Your choices.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before the first ad loads, using Google's consent form. To change your answer later, open Settings in the game and tap Privacy Options, which shows the form again. (The button appears only where the form applies.)
- On any Android phone you can turn off ad personalisation or delete and reset your advertising ID: Settings → Google → Ads (the exact path varies by phone). Google will then still show ads, but not based on your profile.
We receive from Google only summary figures (impressions, estimated earnings), never data about you.
Age
Thrust Roadster is intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game and data was collected, write to us and we will delete what we can identify.
Features that may be added
A future update may add a world leaderboard and a "rate this game" pop-up through Google Play Games Services and Google Play. If it does, those features run under your Google Play account and Google's privacy policy, you choose whether to sign in, and we will update this page before they appear.
Aisle Be Back (PC)
Aisle Be Back stores its saves and settings on your computer (and, where you enable it, in your Steam account's cloud storage, which is governed by Valve's privacy policy). The game itself contains no analytics, no advertising and no online features of ours.
This website
www.rowdyneighborsgames.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or trackers, and loads nothing from other websites. It is hosted by Cloudflare, whose servers may keep standard access logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability under Cloudflare's privacy policy. If you email us, we keep your message for as long as we need it to reply and for our records.
Who else sees data
| Service | Used for | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Anonymous usage statistics from Thrust Roadster | Google LLC |
| Google AdMob | Banner advertising in Thrust Roadster | Google LLC |
| Google Play | Distributing the game, Android backup | Google LLC |
| Cloudflare Pages | Hosting this website | Cloudflare, Inc. |
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with anyone else, except if the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of personal data about you. Because the game has no accounts, we usually cannot tell which data is yours; the usage data is tied only to the random install ID, which the game does not display. You can stop collection at any time with the Usage Data switch or by uninstalling. For anything else, including a deletion request, email hello@rowdyneighborsgames.com and we will do what we can and tell you what we did. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data in transit to Google and Cloudflare is encrypted (HTTPS). Everything the game stores locally stays in the app's private storage on your phone. We keep access to our Google Analytics and AdMob accounts limited and protected with two-step verification.
Changes to this policy
When we change this page we update the effective date above. For changes that matter, such as a new kind of data or a new third party, we will also say so in the game's store listing.
